ABOUT
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Dedicated to capturing the essence of beauty, Arthur Schulten is one
of those rare photographers who inhales every atom of his subjects
and exhales them onto film, disc and canvas as creatures transformed.
Professionally, his fire found its fuel in the heady 60s era of fashion
and beauty and he rapidly established his name working for a host of international brands. Over the years, Arthur’s commercial work has earnt
a number of international Photography Awards, including the New York Festival’s Grand Award for his work with Reebok.
Privately, Arthur also spent seven years sailing the South Pacific in a quest to capture the essence of natural beauty. Stunning but desolate,
it was the siren call of human company that eventually lured him back
to shore. Landing in Hong Kong, Arthur revealed the city’s vibrant,
shimmering humanity and chose to set up his workshop there and he
stayed there 25 years.
Trying the metamorphosis of female shapes and pristine elements: Faithless, devoted, tainted and pure, the female form has many guises and her artistry
is laid bare in NAKED EXPOSURE launched in 2008.

SILVER LINING, Arthur’s latest work, shown the first time in 20011, exposes how nature’s forces change our landscape, sometimes beyond recognition. The shifting light and shadows appear for just a few seconds revealing unforeseen mysteries and hidden dramas before vanishing into a distant world.

Arthur’s private work is rare and, increasingly, in demand.. In 2003, his
BEYOND BARE BEAUTY exhibition, showcasting stunning photographic art Inspired by exotic flowers was bought by private collectors and by
the FOUR SEASONS HOTEL in Hong Kong.
